Hi, my name is Mo and I run Hullabaloo.
A bit about me: I spent 15 years working at the BBC in London where I was responsible for organising and running events of every shape and size across CBeebies, CBBC, Comedy, Drama, Entertainment and BBC Films.
My husband and I made the decision to leave the chaos of London and relocate to Ireland with our 2 young children so they could be closer to their grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. I have always wanted to run my own business and knew this was the perfect opportunity! I had spent the last 2 years of my time in London volunteering in our local primary school on my day off and I loved spending time with the children and bringing out their artistic and creative sides. SO I decided to start an arts & craft based events business in Ireland as it would draw on all my strengths and be something I would really enjoy.
Through a sequence of serendipitous events, we were presented with the opportunity to buy a thriving business called Hullabaloo which was located in Sligo and ticked every single box we could have hoped for and more!
My husband Stuart has a business head, so he runs that side of things, which is great because it leaves me free to the fulfilling and rewarding task of running the parties and workshops, enlisting extra help where necessary when the group numbers are higher.
I am Garda vetted, and we have Public Liability Insurance.
We have since decided to take Hullabaloo mobile – our home territory is Leitrim, Longford, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon and Westmeath. However, we do also travel further afield (with a small additional fee to cover petrol costs) as we feel passionate about bringing our ceramic painting and craft events as far across Ireland as we can.
